Curcumin Extract, A Little Known Medicinal Herb
Curcumin extract is a wonder thing. It’s the primary curcuminoid of the Indian spice, Turmeric. It’s a very potent yellow color, and is known for a plethora of positive medical benefits. Turmeric Extract is known for a plethora of incredible traits such as fighting aids, herpes, cancer, tumors, and arthritis Curcumin may also have anti-inflammatory properties. This same little spice has also been shown to be effective in treating malaria, prevention of cervical cancer, and may interfere with the replication of HIV & Herpes!
Turmeric may be a member of the Curcuma botanical group, which is a component of the Zingiberaceae of herbs, the Zingiberaceae. The root and rhizome (underground stem) of the Curcuma longa L. plant is crushed and powdered into ground Turmeric. Ground Turmeric is used worldwide as a seasoning as the main ingredient in curry, and is the source of Curcumin.
There is also circumstantial evidence that curcumin reduces the effects of aging, a survey of 3023 people who ate yellow curry, between the ages of 60 and 93, showed that those who ate the sauce once every six months had higher MMSE scores then those who did not. From a scientific standpoint this does not show whether the curry caused it, or people who had healthy habits also tended to eat curry!
Curcumin is that the main biologically active phytochemical compound of Turmeric. It is extracted, concentrated, standardized and researched. Curcumin, which provides the yellow color to turmeric, was first isolated almost two centuries ago, and its structure as diferuloylmethane decided in 1910. Extensive research within the second half a century has proven that its renowned range of medicinal properties, once related to Turmeric, are thanks to Curcumin.
